  • Perks & Querks

Festive period of Raya is halfway gone. My celebration this year is pretty minimal because of work. Neverthless, first day of visitign will always be the most enjoyable one. The father was upset with my shoes(heels to be exact), that he ticked me off, "Wear so high for what, it looks as if it's gonna break, you can walk or not?!" I replied with a, "Tsk. Can lah." Of all things, he had to find a problem with my shoe. That aside, I'm pretty much happy with my shoe, surprising no blisters at all!

And this year, with Maiya is celebrating her first Raya with the family. She's too small to be wearing the mini kurung/kebaya, still, she's cute. But that girl is definitely growing, she knows how to roll on her back now. She was definitely the star on that day, everyone had to have a hold of her. And with such a long name, she's called differently by different people. Hmmm, what a princess. In fact, the following day after Raya, she was able to take in her first semi-solid food. I mean, when you have your own baby, everything is a celebration!

Of coz there was alot(like a whole lot of elephants) of eating. Fatty food brings happy people together! I still have the 'muffins' around my tummy area. As much as I wanna loose it, I'm not too sure if I can. Simply coz, I'm just plain lazy.

Apparently my relatives forgot the fact that I'm working already, as they offered me green packets still. Funnily when I told my aunt, "You don't have to, I'm already working.", she announced to the whole house, "Ahhh this small working already!" How, great. So yeah, instead of receiving, I'm giving now, which feels very different. No wait, in fact it makes me feel ultra old.

With Ashraf around, he added spice to my month of Ramadan and Syawal too, from home made pasta by yours truly for break fast, to rounding Geylang on the eve of Raya while munching on dengdeng(something like halal bakwa) and sipping on bandong. Chocolate chips cookies from him are to die for, even the mother was caught eating it, instead of serving it to the guests. Tsk. I must say, his presence definitely made Raya something extra to look forward too. Ily. :)

Like Oasis's Let There Be Love

"Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two."

    Judokas!

It's just pictures for now, next time, I'll blog about these people whom I spent 4 years training Judo with. One thing that is still in our minds, words of our trainer, "I know your fucked up, but you don't have to tell the whole world you're fucked up!" Like really.

Listen To The Music, Taking You To Places That You've Never Been Before

There I was with the boy, sitting under the moon and the stars, when a pair of police officers approached me, "Work permit please?"

And on that same night itself, a foreigner man, pee-d, yes literally took out his member and took a pee on the padang. What an ass.

    Every Heartbeat Belongs To You

I've always wanted to show this, effort sia, my regulars came together to do a birthday card for me. :)

Hello, hello, kopi and ice milo! -_-

    Damn, I miss blogging.

First things first, got my hands on Arctic Monkeys' Humbug, well, I haven't really listen the entire cd carefully, but all I know is that their direction of music has changed, in my opinion. Their second album was definitely not like the first(Sporty said they were experimenting), and Humbug is also not like the first, so yeah, I conclude their making different music now. How I got attracted to them is definitely from the first catchy-electric(whatever you call it) songs from Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not. But before I continue making more comments about Humbug, I'm gonna go home and listen to it again, this time, much more carefully.

Remember how my mom dirtied my Diesel shoes? I thought of getting Vans just to, you know, make myself feel better, but then I got myself heels for Hari Raya first, it's ironic, I haven't got my outfit for Raya, but the shoes already there. Now contemplation comes in on whether I should get my hands on Vans, kaching kaching wise, it's not as easy.

Materials aside, broke fast with the regulars yesterday. I remember having bad pasta with my Spice Girls a long time back at Pizza Hut, well I got it again. Somehow the new pastas at Pizza hut looked tantalizing, but my Basil Crayfish Pasta tasted like expired-oily-mee-goreng. And no, I'm not exaggerating. Lasagne's still the best. And oh! Please try the food at Java Kitchen Food Republic @Vivo. I'm not really sure if it's authentic Indon food, but I can assure, it's yummy. $6 for a plate of cone-shaped yellow rice, served with keropok, chicken/beef rendang, friend ikan bilis and nuts, preserved vege, potato balls and the spicy sambal!

And school's starting January. I did some calculations and stuff, yada here yada there, I think by the time I reach 26, I should be happy and successful, insya'allah. It's scary to be eventhinking of that age man, but I know someday I'll be that old, so why not! Because it's ok to dream, whether you're 3 or 93.
